Area Coffee Social

The coffee social is great chance to meet all our members. Everyone is welcome, we are happy to greet newcomers and provide all possible support. Coffees take place from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. There are two locations: in Wilanow and at the Zloty Tarasy Mall downtown.

The International Women’s Choir in Warsaw

We are a group of ladies who love music and who enjoy singing together. We sing popular, classical, and traditional songs in many different languages.  Aside from our weekly rehearsals, we have two performances each year, so that our friends and families can hear us. We have a monthly fee (50PLN per month), which pays for our accompanist. Tuesdays from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m on the Mokotow/Ursynow area.

Polish Literature & Issues (New Leader required)

We read books that deal with Poland, its history, culture, politics and fiction. Everything we read is in English; some books are by non-Poles while other books are translations of Polish authors. We have had the occasion to invite some Polish authors to our book discussions. Monthly on a Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m at various locations.


Mahjong is a Chinese game played with domino-like tiles, comparable to a card game like rummy. In the IWG we play by the Mahjong Competition Rules established in 1998. This version of mahjong includes an exciting mix of strategy and luck. Tuesdays, weekly, 10:00 a.m., at various locations.

Mommy Meet-Up

A group of international mums and kids that meet weekly to play and discuss life in Poland. It’s an excellent support network from pregnancy until school age! Tuesdays, weekly, at 10:00 a.m., various locations including local parks.

Mixed Marriage Group

Marrying a foreigner is both interesting and challenging, especially when it comes to family traditions and customs. Let’s talk about it over coffee! The group meets once a month.

 French Conversation

For learning and improving the French language through topics selected from member’s everyday lives. All levels are welcome! Wednesdays from 11:00 a.m. to 12 noon at La Civetta café in Sadyba.

Polish Conversation Group

Everyone is welcome to our Polish Conversation Group. We talk in Polish or work on homework from other, formal Polish classes. Meeting 2-3 times per month.

Yoga Group (Max 5 People)

We meet weekly to practice the ancient art of yoga. It helps us strengthen our bodies, calms our breathing, sharpens our minds and lifts up the spirit! Both beginners and advanced students are welcome. Participation is limited by venue, new sign up will be necessary every Monday.

Arthur Murray Social Dance Group

We meet once a week to learn basics of the most popular social dances, improve grace and poise, develop fluidity of movement, add elegant arm-styling and increase self-confidence through dancing.  1pm-2pm at Emilii Plater.



Asian Culture Group

Share various cultural insights in art, language, fashion, cookery, etc with each other. Open for all Asian and non-Asian members. Each month, the group arranges different cultural activities. Please come and share your experience and culture with us.! First and third Thursday of each month from 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon at various locations.

IWG Book Club

We choose 10 books in May (1 per month thus excluding July and August), read them and discuss the chosen book. First Thursday of each month from 9:30 a.m. to 12 noon, various locations.

Active Walking Group

Everyone is welcome (strollers included) on this fast-paced 8-10 kilometer walk taking in some beautiful parks and streets of Warsaw. The walk finishes at approximately 11:00 am at Café Kafka in Powisle, so if you don’t feel like walking, why not come for coffee instead? Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. to 12 noon meeting at the footbridge over Tamka at 09.30 or at the Belvedere Restaurant in Lazienki Park at 10.15.  Contact the group leader to register for emails.

Quilting group

The quilting group is for patchwork lovers. We meet in different members’ homes. It’s a small group limited to 12 women. We have an English speaking teacher who helps each of the members choose fabric, patterns etc. Each member chooses their own project. Thursday, biweekly, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., various locations.

English Conversation

Beginner-level English conversation practice. The emphasis is not on grammar but on conversational fluency through talking about members’ countries and life experiences. Fridays, weekly, from 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon at La Civetta café in Sadyba.

Occasional Groups

Cooking Group

The international cooking group is a monthly meeting at a group member’s house. The host alternates and the host will show how to cook their favorite recipes (preferably 2-3 recipes).  Limited to 12 members. Monthly, alternate days and locations, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Free Spirits travel group

Occasional 2-3 day trips to Polish cities that are several hours away from Warsaw. Each lady will pay all her own costs but a local guide will be arranged. This group is in the planning stage.

Family Sightseeing Tour

An organized tour once a month with a hired guide who knows the ins and outs of all of Warsaw. We try to focus on different topics or areas of the city each month, and always try to include some fun along the way. Some of our favorites have included a Praga and Vodka Tour. Our group meets on the weekend so significant others and friends are welcome! Saturdays, monthly, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., various locations.

Working Women’s Group

We meet once or twice a month for drinks and dinner and share the joys and challenges of being an employed expat! Please join our Facebook page  for information on the next event! (You don’t need to be actually working to come to our dinners!) We look forward to meeting you! Various weekday evenings, various locations.

Stretch & Work Class*

Refreshment for the spine, shoulders and all parts of the body and mind.  We meet twice a week.  Usually Tuesdays and Thursdays – times and dates may vary.  *A small fee to cover cost of venue.

Social Events

At various times throughout the year IWG social events are organized. These will always be communicated in advance via the newsletter, email and Facebook page. They include weekend family BBQ, lunches, dinners and ladies’ nights. Time, dates and locations vary.

Newcomers’ Orientation

Moving to a new country can be overwhelming. The IWG offers support and information to help you settle, and offers Buddy support if needed.  Open to particularly new members, existing members are welcome too!
